The basalt formations are very old. Geology
It's a real tonic to see the huge blue skies, fluffy clouds and bright
colors.
This is only a portion of a fence covered with Tree Swallows. What
a sight.
'Whaddya think? Wanna join them?' 'Nah - I'm not into
crowds.'
As we admire this beautiful scenery from an overlook, I hear a familiar
sound.
It's another sighting of Sandhill Cranes, even further away than the
first.
Time to say goodbye and begin the long trek back to Western Washington.
I'd been trying to photograph a Magpie all day. At last I was
lucky.
The
grass really was *that* green, and the sky *that* blue.
We don't see Big
Skies very often in Western Washington.
