A Day In Our Life

With the prospect of another gloomy, wet Saturday looming Tim suggested a ride to Eastern Washington.  We haven't been there for years!  So off we went at 7 a.m., eager to see some blue skies and sunshine if nothing else.

Here we are on I-90, heading for Snoqualmie Pass and Eastern Washington.

There was still snow around as we neared the summit of the Pass.

Keechelus Lake, also a reservoir, still had a layer of snow.

This arch is part of a Wildlife Bridge being built for bears, deer and elk.
Elk don't like stuff above their heads so no culvert crossings for them.

As we drive east the vegetation begins to change and so do the skies.

Thorp Fruit.  Try saying that quickly 3 times in a row.  We always do.

Here's another one we like to say aloud.  Kittitas is a county and a city of 1,450 in 2012.

There are quite a few windmills in this area.

Here's the wide and lovely Columbia River which we've just crossed.

The hills in the Columbia River Basin are quite beautiful.
