As we left Artist Point, out popped Mount Shuksan again, just to tease us.

One of our lunch companions brought his own food.
Another tucked into the crusts of a peanut butter sandwich.
After lunch we headed for Heather Meadows. Finally Mount Shuksan appeared.
Huckleberries line the trail at Picture Lake.
There's my mountain with a pretty good reflection despite a breeze.
The wildflowers were still very colorful.
Tim spotted a female Blue Grouse beside the trail. She was trying to find her kids.
They didn't seem to be too upset. Some of them came very close to us.
Their coloring is pretty good camouflage.
I took one last picture of Mount Shuksan and we set off for home.
What a treat on the way home - dinner on the deck of Ivar's Seafood Restaurant in Mukilteo.
We even had cake to celebrate my birthday.
And a wonderful birthday it was.
