Our trip on Saturday was almost 12 hours long.  Thanks to a friend's photos on the Book of Faces, we learned that most of the snow had melted at Artist Point so off we went hoping to take a walk along the ridge and see some mountains.

We passed many cyclists on the way up.  I admire their stamina and their nerves.

As we began the drive up to Artist Point we noticed that the clouds were descending.

The heather was blooming though - all over the place.

Large piles of snow hung on here and there at the top but the trails were clear.

It made me wonder just what was around that corner or over that hill.

Somewhere under those clouds is Mount Shuksan.

A large family of Inukshuks posed in a rocky area.  I loved them.

I thought they must be glued together so I touched one.  Nope, the stones are all loose.

Up and up we went.  My gosh, the views are spectacular, even on a cloudy day.

Tim has no fear of edges.

There was still no sign of Mount Baker, and very little of Mount Shuksan.

I don't usually get this close to the edge.

And still the clouds hang over us.
