NOOKSACK RIVER EAGLES:  DECEMBER 27 2018
After several fruitless attempts recently we tried once more to see if the Bald Eagles were gathering in numbers yet at the Nooksack River in Northwestern Washington.  It was a gray, damp,  cold Saturday.

We were heartened by the number of Bald Eagles we saw on the way there.  When we arrived we were thrilled to hear many calls, and to see a great number of these majestic birds resting in trees, swooping around and searching the shoreline for fish.  Tim figures we saw two to three hundred Bald Eagles all told.

Here are ten pictures.

Good grief, what just crashed into us?  Hey, watch it, kid!  Look where you're going!!!

Ooooops, so sorry. It's my first time here with everyone and I'm excited!

Okay kid, calm down.  Some of us are trying to sleep.

Yeah, and if you don't look where you're going you can hurt yourself.  Or us!

Meanwhile, back at the tree...Zzzzz Zzzzzz Zzzzzz Zzzzzzz Zzzzzz.  All is well.

Thank goodness.  Now I shall eat my fish in peace and quiet.

Brrrrr! That's a cold breeze!  Gotta flap my wings to keep warm.

Coming in for a landing....yikes, I almost missed.

Wow, look at all the birdwatchers down there!  I'll show off for them. Wheeee!

I'm showing off to the people on the bridge.  They really like our big wingspread.

We drove around a bit and had a picnic lunch.
Nowhere did we see as many Bald Eagles as we did at the Nooksack River.
What a great day.
