We're having a mini-heatwave at present so no long hikes for me today.  Tim decided to do a few errands in Seattle and graciously dropped me off at the Zoo.  It's been a while.

I was quite disappointed that I would not be seeing Yola,  the baby gorilla today.  She and Mom are on view in mid to late afternoon right now.  Here's hoping this will change as they become used to being the centers of attention.   Yola is adorable.

Meanwhile, there was certainly plenty to see on this hot summer day.

First stop was the Rainforest Pavilion where I was happy to see the young Ocelot.

She spent a while playing around in the high branches of the exhibit.

The Red-ruffed Lemur thinks it's very hot here today.

'Hey Red! The shade is UNDER the tree, not on it.'  says a Ring-tailed Lemur.

Want to see some fun I have with the ducks?

'Hey ducks!  Look at me!  I'm eating a cookie!  Yum, yum!'

Now I throw some cookie  down into the bushes and wait.

Three ducks suddenly run through the underbrush quacking away.  One is the lucky one.

Ready for another one?  No fighting now!

A gorilla sits alone in the exhibit.  'I wish someone would play with me?'

'Or we could just sit and chat if you like.'

'Hello.  Pleased to meet you.  I'm the new Red Panda.'

'Look at the great perch my keepers have made for me.  I love it!'
