Off we went to Spencer Island today, about half an hour north of us.  It's often interesting to see a place during different seasons.

A couple of Swallows tried to decide what to do this morning.

A number of Ospreys swooped around looking for a snack.

Pretty berries brightened the trail sides.

St John's Wort lined the path in places.

Steeplebush flowers nodded and swayed in the breeze.

Twinberry Honeysuckle was a new plant for us.
The berries are bitter but apparently the birds love them.

A Great Blue heron scurried off to a new area when he heard us coming.

Here's a tiny Blue Copper Moth.

At last we saw a Bald Eagle who landed so we could take a picture.

It's always fun to watch the rabbits - this one is eating a Blackberry leaf.
Watch out for the thorns!

A Lorquin's Admiral butterfly paused for a picture too.

We enjoyed our visit and had a good walk.
