Juanita Bay
Park
Saturday February 6, 2016
Still
cold. Still gray. Still winter. We headed
for Juanita Bay Park to blow the cobwebs
away. It's always nice to see a favorite
place in a different season.

Here's
the entrance to the half a mile long raised path.
Woohoo - first buds of the season!
I wonder what a story the pink gloves would tell?
The water in the Bay is high.
Many Cormorants sat on the stumps in the water.
Flotillas of Coots drifted here and there.
It sure is nice to be out!
Suddenly a gang of Hooded Mergansers paddled past.
Back and forth they went, on top of and under the
water
Now we're moving on to the next boardwalk.
There were many ducks in the water, out of camera
range.
A Wood Duck made his way down the small channel in
the previous photo.
He
bobbed around for a while so off we went to the next
lookout.
Maybe we'd be closer to him.
There
were many Green-winged Teal around today everywhere.
We also saw Pied-billed Grebes far off in the
distance.
No more Wood duck though - phooey!
But
wow - a Red-eared Slider Turtle! Amazing.
"Hmmppffff
- where's the sunshine?'
Did
I enjoy myself? You sure betcha!
See you soon, Juanita Bay Park!
