North Creek Trail
January 2016
It's so cold that the Blue Heron doesn't want to stand on the ground.
Ice crystals make everything look so pretty.
A young Bald Eagle surveys his domain.
The Blue Heron surveys his domain too.
On another misty morning the sun tries to break through.
Trying to get a run at his flight, a Coot skids on the ice.
At last he hits open water and is able to take off.
A Downy Woodpecker sits as still as can be.
Breakfast of Champions.
I'm having a bad
hair
feathers day! thinks the Pied-billed Grebe.
There, that's better.
A Bufflehead takes a swim during a small sunbreak.
The sunshine makes three Cinnamon Teal positively glow!
A cloudy day dulls their colors somewhat.
They're still very striking.
You lookin' at us, lady?
The Bufflehead has found a companion.
