It wasn't raining today so off I went
to see
what was happening on the North Creek Trail.
A
large evergreen tree at the edge of North Creek's bank looks
as if it's ready to go. Perhaps it's just too heavy for
the sodden ground to bear. I'll miss that tree.
Sometimes Eagles or Great Blue Herons would sit near the very
top.
This tiny hummingbird often waits for me in the same spot.
A Red-bellied Sapsucker patiently drills holes in a tree,
looking for sap and/or insects.
Many birds flew back and forth carrying makings for
nests
in their beaks. Here is a crow with a mouthful.
A rosy House Finch watched me from a tree.
Nearby, a Pine Siskin watched too.
Another Sapsucker tried to camouflage himself in a tree.
Part of an old apple tree near the path was full of blossoms.
A cheery Song Sparrow warbled away... 'Now it's Spring. Pretty Spring.'
If only we could convince the weather of that.
So it goes.
